Kokshetau Mineral Waters, the company behind Turan mineral water and Haoma-branded alcohol, increased its top management pay for 2025 by 30.4%. Total payments rose by about 9.8 million tenge, from 32.24 million tenge a year earlier to 42.03 million tenge, the website infohub.kz reports.

The company is co-owned by Muslim Umiryaev, a former deputy agriculture minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

All of that money went to a single person in both 2024 and 2025 — Dosymzhan Kenzheshov, the company's sole management board member, who was appointed to the post in September 2023. His pay averaged 3.5 million tenge a month.

Alongside his board duties, Kenzheshov serves as director of Haoma Distillery, which handles the distillation, rectification (the process of separating a liquid mixture into its individual components) and blending of spirits. The unit is wholly owned by Kokshetau Mineral Waters.

The rise in management pay came amid an improvement in the company's financial results. For 2025, Kokshetau Mineral Waters posted net profit of 1.36 billion tenge, up 15.4% from 1.17 billion tenge in 2024. Revenue over the same period grew from 13.72 billion to 16.56 billion tenge.

The sole owner of Kokshetau Mineral Waters is Asia Su Companyasy. In turn, the parent structure is co-owned by Umiryaev and Shalkar Nurtleuov, the younger brother of former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.

Umiryaev also owns Global Beverages, Global Wine KRG, Global Wine AST, Global Wine Aktobe, Global Wine Kostanay, Global Wine2024, Global Wine Almaty, Global Wine Petropavlovsk, Aurora Pavlodar, Global Wine Uralsk, Saturn Distribution, Global Wine Oskemen, EFG Almaty, Agropark KZ and Nord Food Companyasy.

In 2014, a court sentenced Umiryaev to 10 years in a strict-regime colony for taking a $100,000 bribe and nearly 7 million tenge from a businessman for helping him win tenders to supply foot-and-mouth disease vaccine. In 2016, the case was reclassified as abuse of office, cutting the term to four years, and the unserved portion of the sentence was then replaced with restricted freedom, allowing him to walk free early.

The second co-owner, Shalkar Nurtleuov, controls Premium Oil Trans, Doskar Group, Rail Jet and Turan Development QZ.

Kokshetau Mineral Waters produces alcoholic and non-alcoholic products, including Turan water and Xaoma vodka.
