Kokshetau has resumed the modernization of apartment buildings. The first building, on Bykovskogo Street, was renovated in just 45 days, while a total of 320 buildings require upgrading, according to infohub.kz.

The building received a new roof, renovated entrances, plastic windows and entrance groups, and an updated facade. The results were inspected by Marat Akhmetzhanov, akim of Akmola Region, who also met with residents.

The modernization is being carried out under the 2023–2029 Concept, implemented on the instructions of the president. Its goal is to improve the technical condition of apartment buildings and living conditions.

According to Akhmetzhanov, local executive bodies are allocating funds, which are channeled through Kokshe-MZhD LLP. Owners are gradually repaying the money, allowing it to be directed toward modernizing subsequent buildings.

Residents participate in decision-making: together with property owners' associations, they select the contractor, develop the design, and approve materials.

"After the modernization, the building has been noticeably transformed, and we residents are pleased to see such changes; its condition directly affects the comfort and quality of our daily lives. We hope the work done will last a long time, and we will try to keep the entrances in good condition," said Zayda Bozhkeyeva, a resident of the building.

Of the 320 buildings in need of modernization, targeted work has already been carried out on 107. In addition, design and estimate documentation for the repair of five elevators in four buildings is undergoing expert review.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Almaty, residents were outraged that only the end wall of a building on Nazarbayev Avenue was painted. The Bostandyk District Akimat explained that the contractor performed the work on its own initiative and at its own expense, and that repairs to buildings No. 235 and No. 237A could be considered in subsequent stages, taking into account priorities and available budget funds.
