Drivers in Kokshetau have complained en masse about poor-quality fuel, saying their cars stalled immediately after refueling, the website infohub.kz reports.

The fuel incident in Kokshetau was described by the Instagram page sinegor.kz. "Drivers in Kokshetau are complaining en masse that their cars stopped right in the middle of the road after refueling. As usual, they pulled into a filling station on the way to the Zerenda highway and filled up with the fuel they needed. No one expected a collapse. But eyewitnesses now say that more than 20 cars have already stopped. Some drivers abandoned their cars right on the road and walked into the city," the post says.

The Kokshetau akimat's department of entrepreneurship and agriculture responded to the situation. "According to information provided by the management of the filling station, 15 vehicles have been identified as presumably damaged as a result of refueling with poor-quality fuel. All of these vehicles have been sent to service stations for the necessary work to clean the fuel system. Vehicle owners have been issued guarantee letters confirming the filling station management's commitment to compensate for the damage caused," the akimat said.
