Nearly 150 families in Kokshetau, who had been waiting for five years to move into a residential complex, have decided to occupy the unfinished building. The move comes after constant construction delays and a complete halt of work, according to infohub.kz.
The shareholders complain about the lack of heating and electricity, and that developers ignore their appeals. "I bought an apartment in this complex two years ago. People have been waiting for five years. The heating is cut off. There's no constant electricity either. The developers are not responding, completely ignoring us, total inaction. Now it's autumn, it's raining, and the roof is leaking," said one of the shareholders, Sandugash Algazinova.
In the residential complex, consisting of five buildings, buyers were promised comfortable housing at favorable prices, with completion planned for 2022. Many purchased apartments even before the walls were erected, but expectations were not met. Currently, only one building with 72 apartments has been constructed, but interior work is incomplete and electricity is absent. Despite this, 20 families have already moved in, having bought their homes, paying off mortgages, and unable to continue renting. In the second building, only the frame has been erected, and in the remaining three, only the foundations.
Officials assure that by the end of the year, residents of the first two buildings will be able to live in comfortable conditions. "Today, they are signing an additional agreement among themselves regarding obligations and benefits in this project. As for the residents, we are trying our best to hold regular meetings, that is, we now have meetings every Wednesday at the akimat. And this issue is under the control of the city akim," said Bakhtiyar Shabdanov, head of the department of land relations, architecture, and urban planning of the Kokshetau akimat.
