A worker fell from a stairwell in Kokshetau and suffered severe injuries. City police and the Department of the State Labor Inspectorate for Akmola Region reported the incident, according to infohub.kz.
Details of the incident appeared on the Nayza_kokshe public page. According to the author of the post, the man fell from a tall staircase in the Vasilkovsky microdistrict. The fall height was at least 5 meters.
"He fell from a stairwell. The victim has at least polytrauma, an open traumatic brain injury, a fracture of the spine and other bones," the post said.
City police said a criminal case has been opened into the incident. The circumstances of what happened are currently being established.
The Department of the State Labor Inspectorate for Akmola Region also commented on the incident.
"In this case, the Department of the State Labor Inspectorate for Akmola Region has not received a report of the accident from the employer. All circumstances of the incident are currently being established. Failure by an employer to report an accident carries administrative liability, with subsequent enforcement of an order requiring a report on the accident," the agency said.
