A video of a conflict at a Kostanay dialysis center has been circulating on social media, showing a patient threatening a female staff member with physical violence. The man promised to “kill” her and “blow her head off,” reports Orda.kz.
The staff member said the incident began when she asked the patient to come during a different shift. The man initially agreed, but when he arrived for dialysis, he started shouting, using profanities, and accusing her of bias. She said this is far from the first case of aggression she and her colleagues have faced from patients.
“Death threats are not part of the job. Insults are not part of the job. Humiliating medical staff is not part of the job,” she wrote in her post.
The publication confirmed the conflict took place at the Kostanay branch of the Bios dialysis center. Representatives of the organization declined to comment, stating: “At this moment, no comment.”
The police department of Kostanay region said they had received no official complaints about the incident. The city health department noted it cannot intervene because “the medical organization is a private entity and is not under the jurisdiction of the health department of the Kostanay regional akimat.”
