A major fire in a garden community in Kostanay nearly led to an explosion: rescuers removed five gas cylinders from the burning house, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported, as cited by infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry, a fire report was received at 112. The flames engulfed a residential house and a garden cottage. The total fire area amounted to 150 square meters.
"Upon arrival, emergency responders first ensured safety by evacuating four gas cylinders of 27 liters and one 50-liter cylinder from the danger zone," the ministry said.
The fire was fully extinguished. No one was injured. Specialists are investigating the cause of the fire.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that an explosion occurred in a tandyr samsa preparation room at a market in Astana's Baikonyr district. Four people, including a child, were injured.
