In the village of Kushmurun in the Kostanay region, the murder of a five-year-old child is under investigation. The suspect has been detained and placed in custody, and the regional prosecutor's office has taken the investigation under its control, infohub.kz reports.
According to the KTK television channel, the tragedy occurred in the village of Kushmurun. The child suffered severe injuries to the head and torso; the ambulance that arrived on call only pronounced the child dead.
It is emphasized that initially an accident was considered, but after examining the body it became clear that the child had been abused.
It has now emerged that the deceased boy lived with his biological father and stepmother, who have several other children. The child had been in the family for only six months. Before that, he was raised by his grandmother and lived in Astana. It is reported that the woman did not want to give the boy to his father. It was also established that the child's biological mother has been deprived of parental rights.
"The father decided to determine the child's place of residence and took him. The family was considered large and generally well-off. Previously, there were no reasons, so to speak, to appear in this family, to check once again, and so on. But we are still checking all the circumstances," said Nesibeli Basenova, the regional commissioner for children's rights in the Kostanay region.
