A man in Kostanay has been sentenced in a case involving a contract beating. The perpetrator received $100 for inflicting bodily harm on the victim, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Kostanay Regional Court, Court No. 2 of Kostanay considered a criminal case against citizen Ch., accused of causing physical suffering through violent actions. It was noted that the crime was committed with particular cruelty, involving mockery, and aimed at causing torment to the victim.
According to case materials, Ch. deliberately registered on the Telegram messenger to obtain illegal income related to carrying out so-called "orders" for physical impact on third parties. In late March 2026, the defendant received a task from an unidentified person—the owner of account T. The task was to locate citizen K. and apply physical violence against him for a reward of $100–200.
Having located the victim, Ch., acting together with unidentified persons, deliberately struck K. multiple times with hands and feet on the head and body. After that, the unidentified customer paid Ch. the promised $100.
During the court debates, the state prosecutor requested a sentence of 4 years in prison. In court, Ch. fully admitted his guilt and asked for a sentence not involving imprisonment. The victim, in turn, had no complaints and asked not to punish the defendant severely.
The sanction of Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code provides for an alternative-free punishment of imprisonment for 4 to 7 years. When imposing the sentence, the court recognized as mitigating circumstances the admission of guilt and sincere repentance. An aggravating circumstance was the commission of a criminal offense by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.
Taking into account the personality, nature, and degree of public danger of the committed acts, the presence of mitigating and aggravating circumstances, the court sentenced Ch. to 4 years of imprisonment to be served in medium-security correctional facilities. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
