Violations in the provision of social assistance in the Kostanay region have been identified and corrected, according to infohub.kz.
The prosecutor's office of the Uzunkol district audited compliance with the Rules for Providing Social Assistance, approved by decision No. 51 of the district maslikhat on December 6, 2023. The audit found that citizens who missed the three-month application deadline for valid reasons were effectively deprived of the opportunity to apply for assistance, as the current rules did not provide a mechanism for restoring the missed deadline.
Additionally, it was revealed that citizens with disabilities were illegally required to provide extra medical documents, although legislation does not mandate such documents as a condition for receiving social assistance.
In response, the prosecutor's office filed a protest, resulting in the elimination of violations and the alignment of the rules with legal requirements. These measures have helped protect citizens' rights and eliminate unjustified restrictions in accessing state social assistance.
