On Sunday, August 30, the 24th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League continued with three matches. Astana defeated Atyrau in a high-scoring encounter, Irtysh staged an impressive comeback against Aktobe, and Caspiy edged Tobol by a single goal, reports infohub.kz.

The most eventful match was between Atyrau and Astana, held in Turkestan. The capital club went into the break with a two-goal advantage thanks to goals from Bauyrzhan Islamkhan and Stanislav Basmanov. Shortly after the restart, Djordje Pantic reduced the deficit, but on 66 minutes Marin Tomasov restored the visitors' lead. In stoppage time, Henrique Devens set the final score at 2:3. In addition to his goal, Islamkhan provided two assists.

This victory allowed Astana to reach 42 points and reclaim third place. The capital club is three points ahead of Okzhetpes and continues to chase Kairat and league leaders Ordabasy.

In Pavlodar, Irtysh conceded first to Aktobe: Artur Shushenachev scored on 37 minutes. After the break, the hosts needed just a few minutes to turn the game around. On 50 minutes, Leonardo Kalil equalized, and on 53, Ramazan Karimov scored the winner – 2:1.

For Irtysh, this win was particularly important in the fight for survival in the KPL. The Pavlodar side reached 20 points and moved up from last place to 13th. Atyrau and Kaisar have the same number of points, while Zhetysu and Altai, who are in the relegation zone, have 19 each. Aktobe remains fifth with 35 points.

In Aktau, a single goal decided the match between Caspiy and Tobol. On 70 minutes, Congolese player Noah Ndombasi finished off a counterattack to secure a 1:0 victory. Caspiy reached 26 points and stayed tenth, while Tobol with 28 points occupies ninth place.

The 24th round will conclude on August 31 with the match between Elimai and Kairat in Semey. The Almaty side has 48 points and, with a win, would cut the gap to leaders Ordabasy to four points. The Shymkent side has 55 points after 23 matches.
