The 25th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League has concluded. On the final matchday, Astana thrashed Yelimay, Tobol defeated Ulytau, and Altai beat Kaisar to move out of the relegation zone, reports infohub.kz.
Astana scored four unanswered goals against Yelimay, winning 4-0. Ivan Bašić netted twice in five minutes just before halftime, Marin Tomasov added another after the break, and Ramazan Karimov sealed the win from the penalty spot.
The victory took Astana to 45 points and cemented their third-place position. The capital club now leads Okzhetpes by three points. Ahead remain Ordabasy with 55 points and Kairat with 54, though the Almaty side have a game in hand over the leaders.
Tomasov's goal moved the 39-year-old to the top of the KPL scoring charts with ten goals. Roman Murtazaev and Tobol's Uroš Milovanović have nine each.
In Kostanay, Tobol took the lead twice after the break to defeat Ulytau 3-1. Milovanović scored a brace, Vitaly Lisakovich added another, while Aslan Akhmedov pulled one back for the visitors.
The Kostanay side reached 31 points, drawing level with Ulytau but moving up to seventh on tiebreakers. The Zhezkazgan club dropped to eighth.
In Oskemen, Altai secured a vital win in their fight to stay in the Premier League. Dragan Stoisavljević opened the scoring in the fifth minute, and Sayf Popov doubled the lead in the second half for a 2-0 victory.
Altai now have 22 points and have climbed to 13th, out of the relegation zone. Kaisar remain on 20 points and have dropped to 16th, last place. Irtysh also have 20 points but sit one place above.
After round 25, the top three are Ordabasy (55 points), Kairat (54), and Astana (45). Okzhetpes are fourth with 42, and Aktobe fifth with 38.
