The Kremlin has responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to hold presidential elections in Ukraine on the condition of a 60-day truce. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that Moscow is not advocating a temporary ceasefire but a long-term peace, according to infohub.kz.

"We do not want a truce; we want a long-term peace and are ready to do everything possible for that," he said.

As reported by abzatz.media, Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to order a halt to strikes on military targets in Ukraine on the day of the presidential election. This was stated by the Russian leader's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov. He emphasized that such a decision would be made only if the Kyiv regime agrees to hold the vote.

"If Kyiv wants to hold elections, then the President of the Russian Federation, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, will be ready to give instructions not to strike Ukraine on election day. Specifically on election day... In reality, Kyiv does not want to hold elections. This is completely obvious," the Kremlin spokesman told journalists.

Furthermore, contacts regarding a possible energy truce between Russia and Ukraine, announced by U.S. leader Donald Trump, are ongoing, Peskov said. He did not specify whether an agreement had been reached or on what terms it might operate. He also declined to comment on whether it would apply only to oil refineries or other energy facilities.

The spokesman assured that all information would be provided later.

"As soon as we have something to say on this topic, we will certainly inform you," he said.

Peskov also stated that European countries, in Moscow's assessment, are hindering a peaceful settlement, while the efforts of American negotiators are viewed positively by the Russian side.

"The Europeans clearly do not belong to the party of peace, the party that seeks ways to a peaceful settlement. The Europeans are more like the party of war, which continues to do everything to prevent this war from stopping. We are much more impressed by the efforts of American negotiators," the spokesman said.

Continuing, he emphasized that the Russian side is not "seeking a split here," but on the contrary, is interested in measures and decisions that will allow achieving a peaceful settlement.
