Kurasbek Sadibekov has been appointed as the new akim of Almaty's Zhetysu district, previously serving as deputy head of the Almaty akim's office. This was reported by infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Almaty akimat, the corresponding decree was signed by city akim Darkhan Satybaldy in agreement with the Presidential Administration and the city maslikhat.
Kurasbek Sadibekov was born on December 28, 1989, in Astana. He graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in political science. In 2017, he completed his studies at the University of Manchester (UK) in international development: policy, governance, and development strategy.
He began his career in 2011 as a chief specialist in the office of the akim of Abai district in Shymkent.
From 2013 to 2017, he held various positions in the Committee for Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a chief expert in the Department of Strategic Planning and Development of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2017 to 2019, he was an assistant to a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2019 to 2022, he served in the diplomatic service as third secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
From October 2022 to January 2025, he worked as deputy head of the office of the akim of Turkistan region.
From January to May 2025, he held the position of inspector in the state control department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From May 2025 until his appointment as akim of Zhetysu district, he was deputy head of the office of the akim of Almaty.
