After strengthening to 454.98 tenge on Monday, October 5, the dollar has resumed weakening in Kazakhstan, and exchange points are adjusting their rates — one exchange point in Almaty set the selling rate for the public at 499 tenge, which may be a technical error, according to infohub.kz.

According to the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), during trading on October 6, the weighted average dollar rate fell to 452.74 tenge. As trading opened on Tuesday, October 7, the US currency continued to weaken: by 10:30 a.m., it had lost 4.25 tenge and dropped to 448.49 tenge.

Exchange points in major cities have also updated their rates. According to Kurs.kz, one company in Almaty set the selling rate for the public at 499 tenge. However, this may be a technical error, as other exchange points operate in a different price range:

Astana: buying — 447 tenge, selling — 454 tenge;

Almaty: buying — from 443 to 448.5 tenge, selling — from 448.5 to 452.2 tenge (excluding one company's rate of 499 tenge);

Shymkent: buying — from 446 to 449 tenge, selling — from 449 to 451.5 tenge.

The euro rate on the exchange has not yet moved: as of trading on October 6, its weighted average rate was 508.62 tenge. But exchange points are already adapting to changing conditions during trading and have therefore lowered prices compared to data from October 5:

Astana: buying — 499 tenge, selling — 509 tenge;

Almaty: buying — from 496 to 507 tenge, selling — from 505 to 516 tenge;

Shymkent: buying — from 500 to 509 tenge, selling — from 504 to 513 tenge.
