Kyle Kennedy, a granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, has died in the United States at the age of 42. She passed away on September 21 at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts, six years after a severe spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed, infohub.kz reports.
Kyle Kennedy was the daughter of Michael Kennedy and a granddaughter of Robert and Ethel Kennedy. The New York Post reported her death.
"The last few years brought many challenges, but Kyle kept her humor and her determination, striving to be the best mother she could to her sons Conor and Declan and caring for her two beloved but mischievous terriers," the obituary said.
Kyle Kennedy's father, Michael, died in 1997 when he crashed into a tree in a tragic skiing accident. Kyle herself also lost her newborn daughter Josie, the twin sister of her son Conor, now 12.
Kyle Kennedy devoted her life to early childhood education and also advocated for the rights of people with disabilities.
Her grandfather, Robert Kennedy, was the younger brother of the 35th U.S. president, John F. Kennedy.
