Kyrgyz mixed martial artist Razhabali Shaidullaev scored a historic victory at the Rizin FF event in Osaka, headlining the card, according to infohub.kz.
He faced American AJ McKee, a former Bellator champion, in the featherweight division (up to 66 kg). The bout went the full three rounds and ended in a unanimous decision. All three judges scored it 30-27 in favor of Shaidullaev.
The 25-year-old Kyrgyz fighter has now won all 20 of his professional MMA bouts. He defended his Rizin FF featherweight title for the fourth time. In addition, Shaidullaev claimed the vacant PFL belt that was also on the line. He became the first champion of the American promotion in the featherweight division.
McKee's three-fight winning streak came to an end. He had earned contender status for the PFL title when he defeated Kazakhstan's Salamat Isbulaev in June. The 31-year-old American now holds a record of 25 wins and three losses.
Also competing at the Osaka event was Kazakhstan's Karshyga Dautbek. In the featherweight division, he lost to Japan's Ren Hiramoto by split decision (28-29, 29-27, 28-29).
The 32-year-old Dautbek suffered his first defeat in Rizin FF. His overall record now stands at 19 wins, four losses, and one no contest. The 28-year-old Hiramoto is known as a top kickboxer. In professional MMA, the Japanese fighter now has five wins and three losses.
