Police in the Aral district of Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda region stopped a Toyota Land Cruiser at night and found a six-year-old boy behind the wheel. Officers spotted the vehicle while patrolling a district street and quickly pulled it over, averting a possible traffic accident, the website infohub.kz reports.
A check showed the SUV belonged to the child's father. Administrative reports were drawn up against the man for failing to properly fulfill his duties to raise and protect a minor, and for allowing the child to be out at night without a legal guardian.
The case materials were sent to court. According to Polisia.kz, the parent was held liable. Police later held a preventive talk with the parents and the child.
The department recalled that Kazakhstan is running an operational and preventive campaign called "Attention, Children!" Parents were urged not to let minors drive cars and not to leave children unattended on the street at night.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in the Almaty region a 25-year-old Chevrolet Cobalt driver struck two minors in a residential complex in Besagash. Both children were injured and taken to hospital, and the driver was held liable.
