In Kyzylorda, officers from the organized crime unit dismantled an organized criminal group, infohub.kz reports.
According to the information media portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a complex of operational and investigative measures established that in Kyzylorda, members of the group extorted money from entrepreneurs and citizens by threatening violence. They also collected the so-called "obshchak" under the pretext of helping individuals serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty.
During the investigation, numerous episodes of criminal activity were documented, and authorized searches were conducted, resulting in the seizure of traumatic and pneumatic weapons, ammunition, money, and other physical evidence.
Testimonies of victims and witnesses were obtained, and bank transfers and digital evidence confirming the group's criminal activity were examined.
A number of criminal cases were registered on charges of extortion, illegal possession of weapons, hooliganism, and participation in an organized criminal group. Eight people were brought in as suspects, and for most of them, a preventive measure of detention was chosen.
Upon completion of the pre-trial investigation, the criminal case was sent to court. By the court's verdict, the organizer of the organized criminal group and its active participants were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment — from 4 to 11 years. The verdict has entered into legal force.
