A master class featuring leading specialists from the Syzganov Center was held at the multidisciplinary regional hospital in Kyzylorda. Local doctors, under the guidance of the country's chief surgeon Bolatbek Baimakhanov, performed two highly complex operations on patients with stomach cancer, while dozens of young doctors watched the procedures via live stream, reports infohub.kz.

In the first case, the medical team removed the cancer-affected part of the stomach through open surgery. As the surgeons noted, the format of the intervention is always selected individually — depending on the stage of the disease and the location of the tumor. This is the first such operation performed in the region this year.

The second patient was operated on using modern minimally invasive technology — laparoscopy. In this case, instead of a large incision, the surgeons used several small punctures to insert a microcamera and instruments.

Surgeons note that if the patient's condition allows, this method is considered optimal. It causes minimal trauma to the patient's body, thanks to which they recover faster and much earlier after surgery. However, such an operation requires high precision from surgeons.

The doctors' work could be followed live. The broadcast from the operating room was shown in the simulation center of the regional hospital, where surgeons from all districts of the region were present.

Earlier, "Kursiv" wrote that surgeons from Moscow came to Almaty to conduct a master class for their Kazakh colleagues. There, the doctors operated on children with severe congenital pathologies.
