Police in Kyzylorda stopped a wedding motorcade whose participants committed flagrant traffic violations. The drivers were held accountable, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the Police Department of Kyzylorda Region, staff at the operational control center used video cameras to identify vehicles in the wedding procession that flagrantly violated traffic rules in the city center. The information was promptly relayed to patrol crews.
"As a result, all drivers of the vehicles taking part in the procession were stopped and taken to the police. A total of 33 reports were drawn up, and 12 violators were fined. Ten cars were parked at a special lot," the statement says.
The inspection uncovered driving in the oncoming lane, dangerous maneuvers, use of a phone behind the wheel, unfastened seat belts and other traffic violations.
"Police urge citizens to strictly observe traffic rules. Weddings or other celebratory events cannot be a reason for creating dangerous situations on the road. Processions have no privileges on the road, and anyone who violates the requirements of the law will be held accountable," police recalled.
