At just 19 years old, Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal has become the first player in history to win both the European Championship and the World Cup, setting an all-time record, according to the sports publication Championat.
As Championat notes, the Spain forward played in the 2026 World Cup final and achieved an age milestone that no one had reached before.
According to statistics portal Opta Sport, Yamal is the first footballer ever to win the Euro (in 2024) and the World Cup (in 2026) by the age of 19.
At the recently concluded World Cup, Yamal played in all eight matches and scored one goal. At the European Championship in Germany, he also played in all seven games, scoring one goal and providing four assists, including one in the final.
Spain defeated Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final, which was held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
