The landslide has blocked roads leading to the checkpoint on the Chinese side and disrupted communication and power supply.
The Gyirong port is the main land border crossing on the Sino-Nepalese frontier. In Nepal, reports mention destroyed villages, damaged roads, bridges, and energy facilities in the region bordering Tibet.
