Larisa Dolina has given up trying to reclaim her apartment in Khamovniki after friends gifted her a new home, reports the website infohub.kz.
The People's Artist of Russia shared this in an interview with 5-tv.ru at the "Stars of Russian Radio in Zavidovo" festival. "I now have a much better apartment. I didn't buy it; my friends bought it for me. It's a new building with a new renovation," the singer said, without disclosing further details about the new property.
The saga over Dolina's apartment became one of the most talked-about topics on social media. The singer sold her five-room apartment in the upscale Khamovniki district to Polina Lurie for 112 million rubles. Later, Dolina claimed she had been defrauded and sought to have the transaction invalidated in court, attempting to reclaim the property.
The case sparked widespread public backlash, leading to a wave of cancel culture. In legal circles, an unofficial term "the Dolina effect" emerged to describe situations where sellers attempt to reclaim sold property through the courts while keeping the proceeds.
The dispute was finally resolved by the Supreme Court of Russia. In December 2025, it ruled in favor of Polina Lurie, granting her ownership of the apartment. Subsequently, reports emerged that Lurie had put the apartment up for sale. According to several outlets, the property's value may have risen to nearly 200 million rubles, though there has been no official confirmation.
Larisa Dolina, now 70, appears to have put the episode behind her. She continues to perform actively. Speaking to journalists, she said the scandal was a difficult but important life lesson: "I understood everything, turned the page, and am moving on with a clean slate and a clear conscience. I didn't do anything bad to anyone. And I have forgiven everyone."
