Russian influencer Valeria Chekalina, known by her pseudonym Lerchek, has told her social media followers that her cancer is progressing. She recorded the message to subscribers together with her fiancé, Luis Squicciarini, who is also the father of her fourth child, according to infohub.kz.
According to the blogger, recent tests showed that metastases have begun growing again in various parts of her body. Her health has deteriorated, and the couple was forced to begin treatment urgently.
“Unfortunately, the cancer has started to progress. We urgently began treatment — the first administration of the second line of chemotherapy has already taken place. We are considering all options, including CAR-T therapy in China, and hope to obtain court permission to fly out,” the source quoted the couple as saying.
Followers responded to the post with words of support and wishes for a speedy recovery. Comments included: “Darling, I am praying for you. May the Almighty hear all of us, I beg you,” “Sweetie, you will get better,” “Dear, hold on! You are stronger than all adversity,” and “Lerchek, get well soon.”
Recall that on July 31, Lerchek was given a five-year suspended sentence in a case involving the transfer of more than 251.5 million rubles abroad. The prosecution had sought a tougher punishment for the blogger.
