South Korea's Lotte Group will build its first hotel under its own brand in Almaty and join the development of Alatau City, while maintaining its presence in Kazakhstan's food industry and logistics. These topics were discussed at a meeting between President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev and Lotte Group Chairman Dong-Bin Shin, according to the Akorda press service, as reported by infohub.kz.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev noted that Lotte remains one of Kazakhstan's long-standing partners and contributes to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The head of state specifically highlighted the company's work in the food industry. Lotte is developing the Rakhat brand and modernizing production facilities in Almaty and Shymkent.
The meeting also covered the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. Lotte Global Logistics is considering expanding access to regional and international markets.
Almaty will get its first hotel under the Lotte brand. Following the meeting, Hotel Lotte Co. Ltd and Sensata Invest exchanged memorandums of understanding on the construction of Lotte hotels in Almaty and Alatau City.
Dong-Bin Shin also announced Lotte's participation in Alatau City development projects, including the creation of an Iconic Complex.
Earlier reports said Caspian Group, which is actively involved in the design and construction of Alatau City, posted a loss of 445.6 million tenge in 2025.
