The blooming lotus flowers near Atyrau have become one of the most popular natural attractions in the region this summer. Many people visit them specifically for photos, and a local resident has shown how to get there for just 80 tenge, reports infohub.kz.
The lotuses near Taskala have become popular only recently. In July, specialists from the Akzhayik State Nature Reserve confirmed that a new area of growth of the Red Book lotus was discovered along the Peretaska channel. Previously, these flowers in Kazakhstan were mainly associated with Kurmangazy district, where tourists had to travel about 300 kilometers from Atyrau and then take a boat. Now, the rare plant can be seen almost within the city limits for just 80 tenge.
The route starts from the Pobeda Park bus stop in Atyrau. From there, take bus No. 6 to the final stop Taskala, then walk straight for a few minutes to the Peretaska channel, where the lotuses bloom.
According to the author of the video, he specifically wanted to show the most budget-friendly way to reach the flowers, since a taxi is not affordable for everyone and not every driver agrees to go there.
At the end of the video, the Atyrau resident asked visitors to treat nature with care and not to pick the flowers.
"Come, admire, look, but do not pick, do not touch, do not uproot. Let's protect nature together," he says.
