The world's most coveted football trophy will arrive in style. For the decisive match of the FIFA World Cup at the stadium in New York and New Jersey, the golden prize will be transported in an exclusive case by French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, reports infohub.kz.
Designers at the French fashion house handcrafted the masterpiece in their historic workshops. The case exudes understated opulence, featuring the brand's iconic brown monogram pattern and reinforced corner guards in gilded brass. A large golden letter V adorns the front, symbolizing both Victory and Vuitton. Inside, the case is lined with soft natural beige leather and includes a special patch commemorating the partnership between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
The exact price of the case remains undisclosed, as it was made exclusively for FIFA and is not available for purchase. Experts estimate that standard Louis Vuitton trunks of similar size cost between $20,000 and $50,000, while the custom-made trophy case is likely worth many times more. The World Cup trophy itself, made from solid 18-karat gold, is priceless.
This marks the fifth consecutive time Louis Vuitton has created a case for the World Cup trophy, having done so for the 2010 (South Africa), 2014 (Brazil), 2018 (Russia), 2022 (Qatar), and 2026 (USA, Canada, Mexico) tournaments. "For over a decade, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have shared a commitment to excellence. We believe sport has the power to inspire people around the world," said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.
High-end brand collaborations with sports have become common. Jewelry house Tiffany & Co., for instance, has crafted the legendary Vince Lombardi Trophy for the Super Bowl winner since 1967. Louis Vuitton also holds a 10-year contract with Formula 1, producing cases for trophies at the most prestigious Grand Prix events.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Argentina secured a comeback victory over England in the 2026 World Cup semifinal. The match in Atlanta ended 2-1 in favor of Lionel Scaloni's team.
