Louvre May Send Exhibits to Kazakhstan as Talks Held in Paris

The Louvre in Paris may bring some of its exhibits to Kazakhstan for an exhibition. The possibility was discussed in Paris by Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Information, Arman Kyrykbaev, and the president of the French museum, Christophe Leribault, according to infohub.kz.

The meeting took place during Days of Kazakh Culture in France. As part of the trip, the head of the Kazakh ministry also held talks with French Culture Minister Catherine Pégard. The sides agreed to expand cooperation in theater, museums and archives. In particular, the countries plan to organize reciprocal tours by creative ensembles, as well as training, internships and master classes for specialists.

The cultural days program in Paris included Days of Kazakh Cinema and a roundtable, "Kazakhstan – France: From Cultural Dialogue to Joint Projects," at the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac.

The key event was a gala concert by Kazakh artists at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. Opening the evening, Arman Kyrykbaev stressed the diplomatic importance of the event:

"Today, relations between Kazakhstan and France are developing dynamically in the spirit of an enhanced strategic partnership. The state visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev to France in 2024 and the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Kazakhstan in 2023 gave new impetus to bilateral cooperation. I am confident that today's gala concert will become another important step toward strengthening friendship between our peoples."

On the theater stage, traditional Kazakh songs, kuis and contemporary works were presented to the French public. The concert featured Alisher Karimov, Zarina Altynbaeva, Yernar Sadyrbay (Amre), Eldar Saparayev, Rasul Zharmagambetov, Farkhat Kubiev, Nazym Sagyntai, the Astana Ballet theater, the HasSak ethno-folk ensemble and the group Mezzo. Musical accompaniment was provided by the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments.
