Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko warned the SCO+ summit against turning the organization into the United Nations in its current form, reports infohub.kz.
Lukashenko stressed that by building consensus on various issues across the Eurasian space, the SCO is creating a solid foundation for resuming a full-fledged global dialogue. He noted that at the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State, which preceded the SCO+ format, much was said about how no major world event should take place without the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
"We all understand this, we talk about having some 'spirit' and so on. But that is not enough. People expect concrete actions from us towards multipolarity. Time is running out. If we waste time, we could turn into the United Nations as it exists now," Lukashenko said.
