Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on national security and commented on the increasing inspections of the country's Armed Forces, as well as Western media reports about a possible Russian attack on Poland and the Baltic states from Belarusian territory, according to infohub.kz.

Information about the meeting was published on the official Telegram channel of the Belarusian leader's press service, "Pul Pervogo." According to Lukashenko, the media have recently been writing a lot about what is happening in the Belarusian Armed Forces. He believes that Western countries were primarily concerned by the fact that Belarus conducts inspections of its Armed Forces "too often and very specifically."

"I want to tell them that there is no emergency here. I said openly and honestly that we are preparing for war in order to avoid it. We are not going to attack anyone, as recently in the media our Western 'friends' have launched a campaign that Russia will attack the Baltic states, possibly Poland, from the territory of Belarus and together with Belarus," Lukashenko said.

According to him, these rumors about a possible attack are "nonsense."

"This nonsense, there's no other word for it, which is directed at us, is constantly growing in the media. They need money. Neither the three Baltic states, former Soviet republics, nor Poland possess sufficient power to satisfy their wants, especially military ones," Lukashenko added.

Recall that in September, the command of the Polish Armed Forces stated that Russian Federation drones violated Polish airspace during an attack on Ukraine. Poland called Russia's actions an "act of aggression."

Earlier, the Polish Foreign Ministry urged Polish citizens in Belarus to leave the country as soon as possible. Previously, the Belarusian KGB detained a Pole with secret documents about the "Zapad" exercises. The detention took place in the Vitebsk region.
