Kazakh cyclist Alexey Lutsenko won the men's road race at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya, becoming the most decorated Kazakh athlete in the history of the Summer Asian Games by number of gold medals. Another rider from the country, Yevgeniy Fedorov, took silver in the same race, according to infohub.kz.
Lutsenko completed the distance in 4 hours 13 minutes 11 seconds. Fedorov finished second, 1 minute 58 seconds behind, in 4:15:09. Bronze went to Japan's Yuhi Todome in 4:15:51. The third Kazakh rider, Nicolas Vinokurov, placed seventh with a time of 4:19:27.

For Lutsenko, this is his second gold at the current Asian Games: he previously won the individual time trial.
With this victory, the 33-year-old cyclist has brought his career total of Asian Games gold medals to six, setting a record among Kazakh athletes. The previous achievement belonged to rower Konstantin Negodayev, who has five gold medals.
Lutsenko first became an Asian Games champion in 2014 in Incheon. In Jakarta in 2018, he won two golds; at the 2022 Games in Hangzhou, he earned one gold and one silver; and in Aichi and Nagoya, he added two more victories.
Kazakhstan's national team now has 16 medals: seven gold, four silver and five bronze.
After the third day of the Games, Kazakhstan sits fourth in the unofficial medal standings.
