A video showing a flashy convoy of luxury cars on the bypass road of Kazakhstan’s southern capital went viral on social media, according to the Almaty Police Department press service. “The footage caught the attention of police during internet monitoring. It was determined that the drivers, traveling north on the Eastern Bypass Road, committed several traffic violations. Officers from the administrative police investigation unit quickly identified all members of the convoy and held them administratively liable,” the statement said.
The drivers were issued administrative citations for creating a hazardous situation, causing an artificial traffic jam, operating vehicles with illegal window tinting, and failing to use seat belts. “No matter the value of the car, the driver’s status, or public attention, traffic rules are the same for everyone and must be followed without exception,” the police department said.
