Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, held in a US prison, is showing inner resilience and maintaining self-control, according to profiler Denis Davydov, who analyzed photos the leader sent to his grandchildren, as reported by infohub.kz.
The expert noted that in the images, Maduro appears composed and confident, pointing to his posture and body language as signs of a lack of severe nervous tension.
"Confidence is the key word," Davydov said.
He assessed that the distribution of body weight and the V-shaped finger gesture suggest a display of inner fortitude rather than an attempt to impress the viewer.
However, earlier photos from the US jail showed Maduro noticeably thinner. In one image posted on his Telegram channel, the politician was seen smiling in a gray tracksuit.
The profiler emphasized that assessing psychological state from photos is limited and depends on the circumstances in which they were taken.
On January 3, the US carried out a series of strikes on Venezuela and captured Maduro along with his wife. The detained politician was taken to New York, where he faced charges of narco-terrorism and other crimes. On January 5, the first court hearing in Maduro's case took place, after which he remained in custody.
