During the PFL tournament in Tampa, Florida, an incident occurred that drew the attention of mixed martial arts fans. Russian fighter Islam Makhachev, known as the reigning UFC champion, was forced to stop the bout of his compatriot Magomed Magomedov prematurely, reports infohub.kz.

Magomedov was competing in the bantamweight division (up to 61.2 kg) against Peru's Daniel Marcos. The three-round fight ended early in the second round when Magomedov suffered a dislocated shoulder. During the break, Makhachev, who was acting as a cornerman, tried to pop the joint back in, but it didn't help. Magomedov came out for the third round, but after 11 seconds, Makhachev threw in the towel, stopping the fight.

Thus, the 34-year-old Russian suffered his sixth career loss, with 22 wins to his name. For Marcos, this victory was his second straight. Overall, in professional MMA, the 33-year-old Peruvian has 19 wins, one loss, and one no-contest.

Another member of Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov's team, Gadzhi Rabadanov, at the same tournament in Tampa, on the contrary, scored a knockout, demonstrating a successful performance.
