A man in the West Kazakhstan Region has gone on trial for the brutal murder of his relative. The tragedy occurred during a drinking session, and the victim's body was hidden in a garbage pit behind the house, reports infohub.kz.
The Specialized Interdistrict Criminal Court of the West Kazakhstan Region is hearing the case against a resident of the Zhanibek district. He is charged under Article 99 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Murder."
According to case files, a quarrel broke out between the accused and his relative during a feast. In the heat of the conflict, the man grabbed a kitchen knife and inflicted at least 15 stab wounds: two to the neck, one to the face, and twelve to the chest and abdomen. He also beat the victim with his fists and elbows to the head, jaw, and ribs.
The victim died at the scene from his injuries. To cover up the crime, the accused carried the body behind the house and buried it in a garbage pit.
During the court hearing, state prosecutor Askhat Tleuliyev emphasized the particular cruelty of the crime, pointing to the nature and location of the wounds, which were inflicted on vital organs, as well as the subsequent attempts to conceal the body.
The trial is ongoing. In accordance with the law, the defendant's guilt will only be established by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
