In the Almaty region, a man sustained a head injury during a mountain hike and required rescue and medical assistance, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident occurred near Terra clearing at an altitude of 2,610 meters. The man fell off a cliff and into a ravine. The person who called for help stated that the victim was unconscious after the fall.
Rescuers from the Republican Rescue Service "Barys" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Center for Monitoring and Operational Response of the Akimat of Almaty were dispatched to the scene for rescue operations.
"The rescuers had to walk along a mountain route through the Prokhodnoye Gorge. Upon reaching the victim, they found him in a ravine and immediately provided first aid. As a result of the fall, the man suffered a head injury after hitting a stone. The rescuers stabilized his condition and prepared him for evacuation," the ministry said.
The victim was safely brought out of the mountainous area and handed over to the staff of the Disaster Medicine Center, who transported him to City Clinical Hospital No. 12 for further medical examination and necessary assistance.
