Two residents of the Mangystau Region were each arrested for 20 days and stripped of their driver's licenses for seven years after an unlicensed, intoxicated man got behind the wheel of someone else's car, infohub.kz reports.

According to the regional police department, on September 29, patrol officers stopped an Audi on a local road between Tauchik and Kiyakty. The driver was a 39-year-old man with no right to operate a vehicle. He was also intoxicated.

A court ordered the man arrested for 20 days and revoked his driver's license for seven years.

The car's owner also faced consequences for entrusting the vehicle to his drunk friend. According to case materials, the 34-year-old offender was also intoxicated when he handed over the keys.
