A mass die-off of 126 sheep belonging to ten local farms has been recorded in the village of Beineu in Kazakhstan's Mangystau Region, according to infohub.kz.
A herder said that before the deaths, all the animals had drunk water from the same reservoir.
Veterinarians and staff from the district territorial inspection are working at the site. They have already disinfected the pens and disposed of the carcasses in a designated area.
Specialists have collected samples for examination. The exact cause of the deaths will be determined by laboratory tests, with results expected in about 10 days.
