On the morning of September 15, 2026, traffic on Syganak Street in Astana was effectively paralyzed: due to severe congestion, some bus passengers got off public transport and continued their commute on foot, reports infohub.kz.
Users of the Astanovka 98 public page described the traffic situation. According to their reports, congestion formed near the Green Quarter.
According to eyewitnesses, the cause of the traffic jams was an accident on Syganak. In addition, residents complained that due to LRT construction work, traveling along this street in the morning takes significantly longer.
A NUR.KZ correspondent requested comment from the Astana Police Department. The department confirmed the traffic accident.
"On September 15 of this year, at the intersection of Syganak and Tole Bi streets, a traffic accident involving three cars occurred. A police squad was immediately dispatched to the scene. Administrative measures were taken against the driver at fault. As a result of the traffic accident, there are no injuries," the police statement said.
