A court in Pavlodar Region has held the mother of a 16-year-old teenager accountable after he rode a motorcycle without a driver's license. The woman was fined, according to infohub.kz.
The press service of Pavlodar Region courts reported that on May 9, the minor identified as L. rode a motorcycle without the right to operate a vehicle. He was subsequently detained by police officers.
The teenager's mother was accused of improperly fulfilling her parental duties to raise and educate the minor. The woman admitted guilt and explained that after the incident she had a preventive talk with her son.
She also said she works and raises the child alone. The court took into account that L. admitted guilt and that she has a minor dependent.
The woman faced either administrative punishment in the form of arrest for up to 10 days or a fine of up to 20 monthly calculation indices (86,500 tenge). In addition, the court reduced the fine by 30%, finally setting the amount at 60,550 tenge.
