Pre-sales of the updated Mazda CX-6e have started in China, featuring a lidar and an enhanced driver assistance system for highways and city streets, reports infohub.kz.

The price for versions with the new equipment is expected to start from 160,000 yuan — about 11.2 million tenge.

The updated Mazda CX-6e, known in the Chinese market as the EZ-60, has gone on pre-sale. The main innovation is the lidar, which gives the crossover a more advanced navigation system with automated driving functions.

The system works in conjunction with 3 radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 11 cameras. It can independently perform more maneuvers on the highway and in the city, change lanes, overtake slow vehicles, navigate intersections and roundabouts, and make U-turns.

The system can also exit elevated roads, move between parallel roads, and in an emergency, change lanes to avoid obstacles. On the highway, the functions work at speeds up to 130 km/h, and in the city up to 80 km/h. Automatic parking with remote control is also provided.

However, Mazda calls the system a Level 2 driver assistance system, not full autonomous driving. That is, the driver must still monitor the situation and be ready to intervene.

The CX-6e is built on the Changan EPA1 platform and is offered in two variants — fully electric and EREV with a range extender. The electric version is equipped with a 77.94 kWh battery and a rear electric motor producing 190 kW (255 hp). The range is 585–600 km on the CLTC cycle. Fast charging can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes.

The hybrid version has a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 97 hp, which works as part of a powertrain with an electric motor. The 31.73 kWh battery provides up to 200 km of electric range on CLTC.

The dimensions of the Mazda CX-6e are 4850×1935×1620 mm, with a wheelbase of 2902 mm. The curb weight varies by version, up to 2180 kg.

Currently, the CX-6e in China costs from 119,900 to 166,900 yuan — approximately 8.4–11.7 million tenge. For the fully electric version, you have to pay about 10,000 yuan extra, or 700,000 tenge. The price of the new trims with lidar has not yet been officially announced, but is expected to start from 160,000 yuan — about 11.2 million tenge.

In July 2026, Mazda sold 2,929 CX-6e (EZ-60) crossovers in China. Together with the 6e sedan (EZ-6), electrified models already account for more than half of Mazda's sales in the Chinese market.
