Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed gratitude to President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev for his congratulations on her government's historic achievement, reports infohub.kz.

In a post on her X account, Meloni acknowledged Toqaev's contribution to bilateral relations. "Thank you, President Toqaev, for your kind words and for the sincere friendship that has always distinguished our meetings," the Italian premier wrote.

Meloni stressed the importance of working with a leader who looks to the future. "Together we are strengthening ties between Italy and Kazakhstan, opening new strategic opportunities: from energy to critical minerals, and even university cooperation," she noted.

The Italian Prime Minister added that Rome and Astana intend to continue working together for the growth and prosperity of both nations.

Earlier, Toqaev congratulated Meloni on her government becoming the longest-serving in the history of the Italian Republic. On September 4, the cabinet led by Meloni reached 1,413 days in office, surpassing the tenure of Silvio Berlusconi's second government.
