A 23-year-old local resident driving a Mercedes-Benz was drifting on a public road in Kokshetau and was held administratively liable. The violation was detected during preventive measures, as reported by the Police Department of Akmola Region, according to infohub.kz.
Police noted that the driver was punished for damaging roads and violating maneuvering rules. He was fined 7 monthly calculation indices — over 30,000 tenge. In addition, a preventive talk was conducted with the violator.
The regional police department added that since the beginning of the year, 24 drivers have been held administratively liable for drifting.
Motorists were warned: “Drifting on a city road may look spectacular only from the outside. In practice, such maneuvers pose a real threat. The car can lose control, veer into oncoming traffic, or collide with other road users. Such situations are especially dangerous in places where pedestrians and other cars are nearby.”
