Singer Meruert Tusipbayeva has made a strong statement against the presence of creative professionals and bloggers in parliament, insisting that only qualified professionals should hold parliamentary seats, reports infohub.kz.
According to the singer, the legislative body should consist of financiers, economists, and lawyers who can thoroughly study every article of the Constitution. She emphasized that she does not understand why artists, athletes, and some bloggers are in parliament.
“There should be no singers, dancers, kui players, athletes, or bloggers and such in parliament. Only financiers, economists, and lawyers who can examine every article of the Constitution should sit there. I wonder why artists are there, why they came. Because I know the IQ level of artists, athletes, and some bloggers. I understand, I sense that their IQ is low. Those who cannot string two words together, what are they doing there?” — Meruert Tusipbayeva said in an interview with journalist Ainur Asanberdi.
