Famous footballer Lionel Messi has arrived in Argentina to attend the funeral of his father, Jorge Messi, who passed away after a long illness at the age of 68, reports infohub.kz.
According to Argentine portal Clarín, after the ceremony, Messi and his family left the cemetery grounds, where security had been heightened. The private jet that brought Messi and his loved ones to the ceremony returned to Miami without passengers.
It is not yet known how long Messi will remain in Argentina. However, according to the publication, the footballer intends to take legal action against Argentine media outlets, which he believes violated his family's right to privacy during the farewell ceremony.
Argentine journalist Fran Casaretto claims: "Messi has confirmed that he will take legal action against Argentine media that violated the privacy of the family during the farewell to Jorge Messi."
