In the regular season MLS match of the 2026 season, the Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami played to a 2-2 draw, reports the website infohub.kz.
The match took place at Subaru Park in Chester. For the hosts, Americans scored: midfielder Indiana Vassilev (11th minute) and defender Neil Pierre (58th). For the visitors, American forward Daniel Pinter (21st) and Argentine striker Lionel Messi (26th) found the net.
In stoppage time, both teams received red cards: Inter Miami's Italian midfielder Yannick Bright was sent off, and Philadelphia's German midfielder Cavan Sullivan was also dismissed.
The draw gave each team a point. Inter, with 39 points, sits second in the MLS Eastern Conference, while Philadelphia, with 20 points, is 13th.
This goal was Messi's first since the World Cup, where he won silver with Argentina. After scoring, the Inter Miami captain pointed to the sky, likely dedicating the goal to his father, who passed away in August.
