In a Major League Soccer regular-season match, Inter Miami thrashed Canadian club CF Montreal 7-1 at their home stadium, Chase Stadium, according to infohub.kz.
The hero of the match was Argentine forward Lionel Messi, who scored four goals (in the 40th, 52nd, 83rd, and 90+6th minutes) and provided one assist. Also scoring for the winners were Brazilian midfielder Casemiro (20th minute), Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez (80th), and American midfielder Alexander Shaw (90th). The visitors' only goal came from German midfielder Fabian Herbers (37th minute).
The victory snapped Inter Miami's four-game winless streak in MLS. Messi's team now has 42 points and remains second in the Eastern Conference, trailing only Nashville (52 points). Montreal, with 21 points, sits in 14th place, second from bottom in the same conference, ahead of only Columbus Crew (20 points).
