Kazakh sports blogger Aitym Zhakupov found himself in an unusual situation during a trip through Miami. A police officer pulled him over for failing to signal, but what started as a routine check turned into a friendly conversation, reports infohub.kz.
In a video posted on Instagram, the officer asks Zhakupov for his driver’s license. The blogger asks whether his Kazakh documents are valid, and his companions explain they have registration. The officer then chats with Aitym with a smile and even jokes. At one point, he says the blogger “has to drop 200 burpees” (one of the most intense exercise moves) instead of a ticket, drawing laughter from everyone.
“I recognized you right away. How are you? Where are you from?” the officer asks. Zhakupov then asks where the officer is from, and he replies he is from Turkmenistan. The blogger sends greetings to Turkmenistan, and the officer returns the gesture to Kazakhstan. The officer also praised Zhakupov’s project.
The video quickly spread across social media. Users called the encounter kind and unexpected, with many noting the friendly atmosphere and the officer’s sense of humor. “What a pleasant prank,” “What a great video! Both the cop and Aitym are just awesome,” “Now that’s a twist,” users wrote.
