Rolling Stones legends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards appear on the cover of the latest issue of Billboard and share their strong opinions on the use of artificial intelligence in music, reports infohub.kz.

The artists have already used AI technology for visual de-aging in the music video for "In the Stars," the first single from their new album "Foreign Tongues." However, they are skeptical about using neural networks to create music. Keith Richards admitted he prefers the original sound. According to him, music should evolve, not copy itself, so the industry needs a live contribution, not synthesis.

Mick Jagger agreed with his colleague, emphasizing that creating AI tracks that mimic the band's style strips the creative process of any meaning. He noted that if someone wants to work with new technologies, the result must still contain the author's unique thoughts.

The musicians also openly discussed possible tours in support of the new album. Jagger expressed a desire to hold a series of concerts as a residency, though he called the format too expensive for out-of-town fans. Richards is more confident and hopes to organize live performances next year.
